So far, Red velvet has released two studio albums two reissue albums, and nine extended plays in Korean. Red velvet is listed as one of the most popular girl groups worldwide by Time and Billboard. The “Girl Group Brand Power Ranking” published by the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute has stated that Red velvet top this list for three months. Also, Red velvet is the seventh girl group that got to perform in North Korea.
Despite being a rookie girl group, Everglow has hit a jackpot and become one of the most popular girl bands in 2019. The band debuted in March 2019 and consists of six members. During the time of their debut, Everglow released their very first single album called “Arrival of Everglow” with the lead single “Bon Bon Chocolat”. Formed by RBM, Mamamoo is a South Korea girl group that debuted in 2014 and the band consists of four members. The band debuted with the release of their very first single called “Mr. Ambiguous”. Starting from 2015, Mamamoo’s popularity has been rising as the band released their third EP “Pink Funky” with the lead single called “Um Oh Ah Yeh”. 8.OH MY GIRL
OH MY GIRL is a girl band debuted in 2015 by releasing their very first extended play. The band consists of eight members however JinE left the band in 2017 due to health issues. The band’s career breakthrough began in 2018 when they released their fifth extended play called “Secret Garden” and they held their mini-concert in which 3000 tickets were sold out within two minutes. The band has made their Japan debut in 2019 by having a live tour in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo. The band’s debut album peaked number one on the Oricon Daily Album Chart.
ITZY is a talented girl group under JPY entertainment in 2019. This band consists of five members namely, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. Their very first album was released on 12th February with the name of it’z different. Their debut song “Dalla Dalla” has scored as one of the biggest debut group on Billboard as the song entered at No. 3 and peaked at No. 2 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. Besides, this song, which surpassed 17.1 million views within also debuted as the second most popular song on Youtube.
IZONE is a South Korean-Japanese girl band that debuted in 2018. The band was formed through the reality show called “Produce 48”. The band debuted with their extended play called “Color*Iz”. With just their first release of the extended play, the girls have received commercial success with the selling of over 225,000 units. Their song itself peaked at number 2 on Gaon Chart. This huge success as a rookie band has earned them the awards of New Artist of the year at several award shows.
